What makes a great Data Protection Officer?  There are of course many accomplished and qualified privacy professionals, but very few have what is required to be an outstanding DPO within our team.  We know this because we’ve reviewed hundreds of privacy professionals’ CVs and we regularly interview the exceptional candidates.  However, as you will see below, we recruit only those DPOs that demonstrate the specific knowledge, the precise skill set and explicit experience required to meet the exceptionally high standard you require and we set for the role.

Ben

Data Protection Officer

Ben is a Certified Information Privacy Manager who has a strong background working in the pharmaceutical, healthcare and legal sectors. An LLB (Hons) Law and Legal Practice Course graduate, Ben has worked as a Data Protection Officer for multiple private organisations across the FinTech, EdTech, healthcare, and regulatory industries as well as MATs, trade councils and teacher regulatory bodies (UK and multi-national) in the public and not for profit arena. He has advised on an extensive range of audit, compliance and privacy programme implementation matters, both domestically and across multiple jurisdictions.

Ben’s broad experience has led to a keen interest in privacy model analysis and change management within organisations, with a particular focus on contractual controls and privacy team development.

Charlotte

Data Protection Officer

Charlotte is a LLB (Hons) law graduate and qualified lawyer (called to the bar in 2011), with a wide experience in data protection across many sectors, including telecoms, housing associations and not-for-profit organisations.

Charlotte possesses a unique set of skills and knowledge from her time in the legal and privacy sector and has gained a broad spectrum of experience in both charitable organisations and companies regulated by the FCA. Her pragmatic approach and extensive expertise further strengthens the depth of experience withing the DPO Centre team.

Eno

Data Protection Officer

Eno is a certified GDPR Practitioner and experienced Data Protection Officer with a Master of Law degree (LLM) from University College London. With a strong background as a Business Consultant for Deloitte and BT, she has developed and diversified her specialism in recent years into Privacy and Data Protection. She is an excellent analyst and strategic thinker with a broad range of industry experience, including International Commodity Trading, FMCG, Telecoms and Commercial Property.

Ian

Data Protection Officer

Ian is a highly qualified data protection officer, holding the CIPP/E qualification, as well as the GDPR Practitioner certificate.

Ian is also a  qualified teacher and ex deputy headmaster, and has been the Data Protection Officer for over 130 schools as well working as a County Council Management Information Consultant. He has extensive financial knowledge and has attained both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in accounting and finance.

Having been a Troop Commander with the Royal Engineers and with natural investigative and training skills Ian is very comfortable working at all organisational levels including the most senior to give the best possible advice, guidance and support.

Katrina

Data Protection Officer

Katrina holds a first-class honours degree in law and a post-graduate diploma in legal practice (with distinction).  As an IAPP CIPP/E qualified privacy professional, Katrina specialises in DSARs, LIA/DPIAs, policies, licences and service agreements, and research and advisory guidance.

Katrina’s broad sector experience including biochemistry, Information Technology, and employment, family and corporate law, coupled with her work as a business analyst, paralegal and trainee solicitor make her a versatile and highly valued member of the DPO Centre team.

Matt

Data Protection Officer

Matt has an honours degree in law (LLB) and is a certified EU GDPR Data Protection Practitioner. Before becoming a Data Protection Officer, he had a successful career spanning 16 years in local government.  Matt also holds a post-graduate diploma in Trading Standards and qualified as a Trading Standards Officer in 2006. In that role, Matt was responsible for enforcing over 250 pieces of UK and European-derived legislation, often complex and technical in nature. Matt is experienced in undertaking audits with businesses ranging from SMEs to national companies, advising on compliance and the requirements of due diligence. With a keen eye for detail, Matt has also been responsible for investigating serious breaches in legislation, creating case files and achieving successful outcomes at court.

Michael

Data Protection Officer

Michael is a certified Data Protection Practitioner who brings a depth of experience to the DPO Centre. This includes his multifaceted experience in the trade union sector and his performance as data protection officer for a range of international higher education providers.

Michael’s expertise in the field of cross-national jurisdictions, coupled with his innate proven ability in leadership and project management, adds yet another dimension to the rich resource within our DPO team.

Ngozi

Data Protection Officer

Ngozi is a certified information privacy and data protection professional with extensive practical experience both in the UK and internationally. She is also a certified ISO 27001 lead implementer and auditor. As a common law qualified lawyer, with a Master of Laws degree from Queen Mary, University of London, she has worked in private legal practice, as in-house counsel and as a consulting adviser.

Ngozi’s sector experience includes working with technology and SaaS providers, private equity investment companies and charities.  She has also worked for the UN in Geneva advising on their e-Commerce and Law Reform Program.

Nish

Data Protection Officer

Nish is a certified GDPR practitioner who brings broad experience to the role, ranging from Corporate IT, running his own SMEs, to Public Sector work. His Corporate IT roles include project management, business analysis and training, as well as delivering urgent, high priority projects for large organisations.  Nish has set up and run three SMEs in the events, eCommerce and property sectors.  His public sector roles include a large-scale Council/Highways regeneration project and, at Parish Council level, being a Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer.  Nish brings experience, knowledge and a passion for helping organisations achieve compliance with the GDPR.

Paul

Paul F

Data Protection Officer

Paul has a Master’s degree in Risk Management and Insurance and is a CIPP/E and CIPM qualified data protection and privacy professional.  Immediately before joining the DPO Centre Paul was the in-house Data Protection Officer for an Insurance Company with responsibility for all aspects of building and managing a data protection compliance framework at a senior level and in a complex regulated environment.

He has a particular interest in using technology for the medical, healthcare, financial and insurance industries where there is significant processing of sensitive data.

Paul W

Data Protection Officer

Paul has a legal background including a Master’s degree (LL.M) in Information Rights Law and Practice. Alongside this he also holds BCS certificates specialising in Data Protection, Information Security and The Freedom of Information Act.

He is an experienced Data Protection Officer having gained over 13 years’ experience across a variety of business sectors; including social care, charity, housing and education sectors. Paul has developed and implemented GDPR compliance frameworks across multisite organisations including breach management processes and bespoke data protection training programmes.

Ravi

Data Protection Officer

An LLB (Hons) law graduate and qualified GDPR Practitioner, Ravi has a broad range of experience in data protection and privacy. He’s worked both in-house legal and compliance for major international pharmaceutical companies, and as an external GDPR consultant for companies in a variety of other sectors.

Ravi brings a wealth of data protection and privacy experience particularly with cross border transfers and working with international Supervisory Authorities.

Stuart

Data Protection Officer

Stuart is a highly experienced and results orientated senior compliance professional with legal training. He has extensive hands-on experience working within organisations to deliver strategic improvements to their compliance and data protection practices and culture. This has required working closely to build lasting relationships with other business leaders and their teams.

With particular experience in financial services, M&A and security, Stuart’s particular strengths and expertise include managing and handling sensitive data.

Rob Masson

As founder and CEO of The DPO Centre, Rob is actively driving innovation, transformation and thought leadership in data protection and privacy. With over 30 years of business experience, Rob has been involved in delivering solutions to some of the world’s largest and most respected companies.

Rob set up The DPO Centre to assist organisations of all sizes to identify how evolving Data Protection legislation will affect them, the steps they need to take to comply, and how when implemented well, compliance builds trust, confidence, loyalty and engagement.

Lenitha

Head of DPOs / Data Protection Officer

Lenitha became an integral member of the DPO Centre team soon after its inception and has continued to be instrumental in its continued growth and development.  As a member of the board and Head of DPOs, Lenitha provides effective leadership across our Data Protection Officer teams (or ‘pods’ as we call them), overseeing project management, assigning resources and responsibilities and monitoring and reporting on our service KPIs.

Lenitha is a certified EU GDPR Data Protection Practitioner with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Business Management.  She has extensive experience delivering large scale projects, both in local government and the private sector.  Technically strong, Lenitha is also a certified AWS Cloud Practitioner and holds a range of certifications in cloud security.

Kaye

Head of Client Services

Kaye has a Master’s degree (with distinction) and a BA hons (first class) in History.  She is an experienced account and commercial manager and has worked as a legal adviser, specialising in areas of debt and consumer law, general law, tax, and probate law.

Kaye heads up the back-office team and makes sure everyone is in the right place at the right time, so is a vital part of our team.

Milagros (Mili)

Personal Assistant
Milagros has a first-class bachelor’s degree (with hons) and a first-class master’s degree, both in hotel management and speaks multiple languages fluently, including Spanish, Portuguese, French and English . She has worked in a wide variety of roles organising and co-ordinating activities and events. Mili is the Personal Assistant to our sales and operations department, where her broad range of experience certainly comes in very handy in our ever-busier office.

Pippa

Data Protection Learning & Development Coordinator

Pippa holds a Master’s degree in law and social justice (LLM) and a first class law degree (LLB) with honours. During her university studies Pippa joined us at the DPO Centre, contributing to the creation of many blogs, articles and case studies. Having completed her studies, Pippa is now our Data Protection Learning & Development Coordinator and will utilise her advanced research skills for the continued growth and development of our ever-expanding team.

Pippa brings with her a wealth of enthusiasm and positivity.  That, coupled with her organisational skills will ensure that the DPO Centre DPOs remain at the top of their game.

Sarah

Marketing Executive

Sarah co-ordinates all our marketing activities and makes things happen whether it’s running events, arranging exhibitions or seminars, updating the website, writing blogs or posting on social media.  Born in the Netherlands, CIM qualified and bilingual she has a wide range of experience marketing and explaining technical products and services and is an expert at keeping plenty of balls in the air at the same time.

Louise

PR Specialist

Louise is a PR specialist with over 20 years’ experience as a consultant and board member of one of the UK’s leading independent PR consultancies, London-based Lansons.  Having worked with organisations such as The Economist, The Pension Protection Fund (PPF), Wealthify and Post Office Money, Louise is an expert in her field.

Louise’s role at The DPO Centre is to help us raise our profile and promote our range of services, especially into the financial services sector, and to continue to communicate our ongoing success.

Andrew

Non-Executive Director

Andrew has a wealth of experience commercialising and marketing technical products and services, both in the UK and overseas.  A Chartered Engineer with an MBA from London Business School, he has held senior positions in a wide range of B2B and B2C businesses and has been recognised as one of the British Venture Capital Association’s top entrepreneurs.

Andrew used to act as the DPO Centre’s CMO, he worked with the back office team to develop our systems and processes.

Kym

Non-Executive Director

Kym has an impressive track record of outstanding performance at senior levels in Risk, Transformational Change, Customer Service and Operations Management over a 30+ year period within the Financial Services Industry.

Since leaving full time City life, Kym has continued as an Executive Coach and Mentor, become a Business Consultant supporting large City Banks, taken a directorship role with a Financial Services Recruitment Company, and been a Non-Executive Director for a FinTech start up, and Housing Trust

Mark

Non-Executive Director

Mark has worked as a Finance Director within professional accountancy and later in the Motor Industry, Clothing Manufacturing, Professional Sports, Food Manufacturing and Agriculture.

For the past 16 years, Mark has operated as a portfolio Finance Director working for multiple companies at one time.This included working closely in industries such as Telecoms, Commercial Laundry, various businesses within Construction, Engineering, various Manufacturers, Professional Services, Marketing, Waste Management and in the Arts. The vast majority of these businesses are owner managed or family companies

Peter

Non-Executive Director

Peter has an impressive 33 years banking experience and is used to dealing with clients of all types from start-ups to multinational businesses. Peter has a post graduate diploma in coaching and specialises in helping to grow SMEs, particularly with Customer Service, Business Development, Finance and using new technology to effect change in a more efficient way.

Peter is a qualified Clarity4D coach and trains people on how to make the most of LinkedIn. He is a co-founder of Innovation Lab in Suffolk, which is a working space for early stage technology business, enabling him to support many start-ups and promote ‘Suffolk’ as a great place to live and work
