The DPO Centre Charity and Community Fund

Throughout our years of working with charities and NFPs, we fully appreciate that every penny counts and all available resources need to be focussed on the cause. However, charities and NFPs need access to expert advice and guidance to ensure they run efficiently and remain compliant with the law. The DPO Centre is therefore proud to be able to offer our Charity and Community Fund.

The fund’s purpose is to provide access to our data protection consultancy services, but at an 80% funded rate, therefore enabling worthy causes to access our expertise, but with the least effect on their ability to fund their core purpose.

1st October 2024

HOW THIS FUNDING CAN SUPPORT YOUR ORGANISATION

Immediate access to Subject Matter Experts and a broadly experienced team of data protection professionals

Removal of the ‘unknowns’ experienced when conducting a similar process internally

A decrease in the potential for compliance failure across the organisation

HOW IT WORKS

The DPO Centre has set aside a £150,000 funding pot, split into 3 application periods throughout the year

Eligible charities will be invited to apply for up to £10,000 of funding towards any of our consultancy services listed below

Once the submission date closes, all applications will be carefully considered by our dedicated funding panel and applicants will be notified of the outcome

Multiple applications can be made over time, but only one application in each 12 month period will be considered

IS YOUR ORGANISATION ELIGIBLE?

APPLY IN 3 SIMPLE STEPS

Whatever the size of your organisation and whether you are an environmental, social, animal, children’s or community-based charity or NFP (or indeed something else), you will be eligible to apply for our funding.

We would expect your organisation to:

Be based in the UK
Have a management committee in place of at least 3 unrelated people
Have a bank account in the charity/NFP name
Be able to attend a meeting with a DPO within 12 weeks of signing
Be willing to carry out a case study once the consultancy work has been completed

Unfortunately we will not be able to accept applications from charities or NFPs who are political in nature.

Once the funding window is open, simply fill out the application form below, providing as much information as you can about the great work your charity or NFP carries out, who you help and how much of an impact our consultancy work will make to your cause.*

One of our sales team will share their calendar with you to book a call to discuss your requirements and what package we can offer.*

Based on the discussions during the call, a full proposal being sent to you. We will need your written approval of this proposal before sending for final selection.*

* It should be noted that there is a time limit of 5 working days between each of the stages of application. Please do ensure you are able to comply with these deadlines before commencing your application.

When the funding deadline has passed, all applications will be assessed by our charity board, who will make their selections independently. We will then allocate the funds and contact all applicants with the outcome within one month of the closing date. If you are selected as one of the winners, you will have 5 days to sign the agreement, otherwise the funding will have to be allocated to another worthy cause (as we need to inform the non-winners in a timely fashion).
