We are excited to announce the latest round of beneficiaries of the Charity and Community Fund.
The fund has been running since July 2022, with three application rounds per year. Applications are carefully considered and assessed by our charity panel, who are made up of representatives from across all areas of the business. Successful charities are selected after an independent voting processA series of actions or steps taken in order to achieve a particular end..
Congratulations to this round’s winners!
- Access Social Care – Based in Coventry, Access Social Care is charity providing free legal advice, support, and information to individuals with care needs
- Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust – The sole registered charity committed to advancing patient care innovation across Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, overseeing both Addenbrooke’s and the Rosie hospitals
- Equation – Nottingham-based specialist charity, working to reduce the impact of domestic abuse, sexual violence, and gender inequality, supporting Nottinghamshire communities
- Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance – A charity providing pre-hospital critical care to the people of Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire
- Naomi House & Jacksplace – A not-for-profit organisation based in Winchester, with hospices across the UK, providing specialist care and family support to children and young adults with life-limited and life-threatening conditions
- Newcastle Carers – A Newcastle-based charity providing practical services and holistic support to those caring for someone with illness, disability, mental ill-health or addiction problems
These organisations will have access to The DPO Centre’s team of experienced data protection professionals and receive practical advice and support, including compliance reviews, policy drafting, data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and the creation and review of data sharing and data processing agreements.

We remain proud of our ongoing commitment to supporting organisations who might not otherwise have access to professional data protection guidance.’

Applications for the next round of funding will open on 1 June 2024.
Eligibility criteria for submission include:
- Charity or not-for-profit based in the UK
- Management committee of at least 3 unrelated people
- Bank account in the name of the charity/not-for-profit
- Willingness to participate in a post-project case study
Beneficiaries receive up to £10,000 towards consultancy services, but only billed for 20% of the normal fee. Unsuccessful, organisations may re-apply for another round, but only one application per 12-month period will be considered.
