MACC International Ltd is a leading provider of innovative solutions for Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD). With the capability to resolve ordnance and explosive contamination issues in any environment, MACC works closely with the Home Office, Ministry of Defence, and similar high-security organisations.
Given the nature of its work, MACC regularly processes highly sensitive and confidential data. The company sought expert support from The DPO Centre to define appropriate retention policies and enhance data security measures across its operations.
The DPO Centre began by conducting a thorough data discovery exercise to identify the personal data held by MACC. This was followed by a comprehensive Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA), which led to a company-wide action plan for secure data handling. Particular focus was given to the encryption of all corporate emails to protect sensitive communications.
MACC implemented The DPO Centre’s recommendations, introducing new data protection policies and protocols that are now actively maintained and followed across the organisation. The designated DPO also provided guidance on best practice approaches to both digital and paper-based security, further strengthening MACC’s overall data protection framework.
John Morrison, Operations Manager at MACC, said:
‘Working with The DPO Centre has been an informative and enjoyable experience – professionalism has been demonstrated throughout the process and the work with our staff has been conducted in a thoroughly clear, concise and systematic way, with no stone left unturned.
‘We hold a special position in the market working closely on EOD projects with the Home Office. It’s imperative we have the safest IT systems possible with the highest levels of safeguarding and data protection. Having worked with The DPO Centre, I have complete and utter confidence in our data protection protocols and systems offering our clients the highest levels of security.’
