Privacy Puzzle: NOT A CURE-ALL: Is data tokenisation the solution for data sharing?

April 14 @ 3:00 pm - 3:45 pm

Clinical research teams are under increased pressure to get more value from trial data. It needs to be shared responsibly, reused where appropriate, and stored in a way that supports research in the future. At the same time, organisations must protect sensitive health data and meet strict legal obligations such as those set out in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

In this session, we discuss the different ways organisations can protect data when sharing it, including pseudonymisation, anonymisation, and tokenisation. We will also explore how data sharing in the Life Sciences sector is evolving. Large scale research collaborations and new regulatory frameworks such as the European Health Data Space are raising expectations for responsible secondary use and stronger governance.

Join Ben Seretny, COO, Lawrence Carter, DPO and Life Sciences Sector Lead, and Pippa Scotcher, DPO, from The DPO Centre for a fireside chat about the benefits, challenges, and practical steps of data sharing in the Life Sciences, including:

  • What is tokenisation and how it differs from pseudonymisation and anonymisation
  • Practical considerations when sharing clinical trial and health data
  • Tips and advice on preparing for the future
