AI REALITY CHECK: Are you really in control?

October 20 @ 10:00 am - 4:45 pm

Five webinars on AI governance, risk and compliance

The DPO Centre brings together specialists from across the Axiom GRC group for five expert-led webinars.
Each session focuses on a key AI challenge creating new risks for organisations.

Topics covered in the 45-minute sessions include:

  • AI-powered cyber threats and risks to systems and personal data
  • AI-generated workplace claims and grievances
  • Shadow AI and the use of unapproved tools
  • AI assurance and whether existing controls are enough
  • The EU AI Act and how it connects with data protection and wider governance

Each webinar also includes a live Q&A, where you have the opportunity to put your questions to the panel.

Sign up for one session or join us for all five. We look forward to seeing you there.

AI-POWERED THREATS: How to protect systems and personal data
05:00 EDT | 10:00 BST | 11:00 CEST

AI is changing how we work but it’s also changing the speed and scale of cyber threats. Attackers are using it to make phishing, social engineering and other attacks more convincing, scalable, and harder to detect. In this session, experts from WorkNest Secure and the DPO Centre will discuss cyber security and data protection perspectives on AI and cyber risk. They’ll cover where new weaknesses can appear and what organisations can do to reduce exposure and protect systems and personal data.

AI-POWERED CLAIMS & GRIEVANCES: What HR needs to know
06:00 EDT | 11:00 BST | 12:00 CEST

Employees are increasingly using AI tools like ChatGPT to draft grievances, challenge redundancy decisions, and build arguments for employment claims. At the same time, HR teams are using AI themselves to review information, summarise documentation and support ever more complex cases, often involving sensitive employee data. In this session, experts from WorkNest People and the DPO Centre will discuss some of the main employment law and data protection challenges of AI-generated content, and how HR teams can handle disputes safely and appropriately.

SHADOW AI: Do you know how your team are really using AI tools?
09:00 EDT | 14:00 BST | 15:00 CEST

Employees could be using unapproved AI tools for many tasks and, in the process, uploading sensitive company information or personal data, without fully understanding the risks this can create. So, how can organisations manage the growing challenge of shadow AI while meeting their obligations under the GDPR, EU AI Act and other developing regulations? Join experts from VinciWorks and the DPO Centre for a straight-talking discussion on how shadow AI develops and what organisations can do about it.

AI ASSURANCE: Are your existing controls enough?
10:00 EDT | 15:00 BST | 16:00 CEST

You may already have security and privacy controls in place, but with AI being built into more systems and supplier relationships, the challenge is knowing whether those controls mitigate the risks. Customers may ask for evidence, while you may need similar assurance from your own suppliers. What should you be able to provide and what should you expect in return?
In this session, experts from IS Partners and the DPO Centre will discuss how to assess existing controls, identify gaps, and bring security assurance, data protection and AI governance together.

EU AI ACT IN PRACTICE: Bringing data protection into your action plan
11:00 EDT | 16:00 BST | 17:00 CEST

Most of the EU AI Act’s provisions now apply, with high-risk obligations taking effect from December 2027. The extended timeline gives organisations more time to prepare, but AI Act compliance shouldn’t be looked at in isolation. Where AI involves personal data, existing data protection obligations also need to form part of the plan as well as compliance and audit processes. Join experts from CoreStream GRC (former Big 4 leader) and the DPO Centre to understand how data protection should fit into your EU AI Act compliance planning.
