To mark International Women’s Day and this year’s ‘Give to Gain’ theme, The DPO Centre Women’s Network led a month-long fundraiser in support of The PHOEBE Centre, an Ipswich-based charity helping black and ethnic minority women and children.
Throughout March, colleagues across The DPO Centre donated generously to the collection, contributing a wide range of everyday essential items, including toiletries, hygiene products, and baby necessities. All items were delivered to the charity at the end of the campaign.
The PHOEBE Centre provides much-needed specialist advice and services to black and ethnic minority women and children. Its work includes supporting those affected by domestic abuse and individuals facing social and economic challenges, offering both practical help and a safe, supportive environment.
Valentina Iata from the Phoebe Centre team shared:
‘Thanks to The DPO for the generous donation of nappies and supplies. We are truly grateful and look forward to sharing the items with the mothers and babies we support. Donations like these make such a meaningful difference.’
Pippa Scotcher, Chair of the Women’s Network, said:
‘I’m incredibly proud of the community spirit and generosity shown by our colleagues throughout March. Supporting The PHOEBE Centre, a fantastic organisation supporting black and ethnic minority women and children across Suffolk, is something that truly reflects our values and the ‘give to gain’ theme of IWD 2026. Seeing the impact firsthand reinforces just how meaningful these contributions are, and I’d like to personally thank everyone who donated.’
