Across the UK, charities work hard to support people who need it the most. The latest applicants for The DPO Centre’s Charity and Community Fund reminded us how vital that work is.
After careful review and a cross-departmental independent vote by our charity panel, we are very pleased to announce the five organisations who were selected as this round’s beneficiaries on 22 October 2025.

Brent Centre for Young People
A leading adolescent mental health charity for supporting vulnerable 11 to 25-year-olds across Northwest London. For more than 55 years, the organisation has provided free specialised, evidence-based therapeutic support to those facing severe challenges, including depression, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, domestic abuse, and eating disorders.
I Choose Freedom
An independent charity offering safe refuge and a path to independence for up to 39 survivors and 65 children fleeing domestic abuse at any one time. Serving East and West Surrey, it supports around 100 adults and 150 children and young people each year.
Internet Watch Foundation
A UK charity working to protect children from online sexual abuse. For over 29 years, the organisation has identified and removed illegal images and videos worldwide. Using advanced technology and human expertise to help young victims, the Foundation works to stop harmful content from circulating and make the internet safer for children everywhere.
STOP THE TRAFFIK
An organisation using data and technology to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking worldwide. Using their Traffik Analysis hub, the world’s largest trafficking database, they generate insights that support frontline agencies, businesses, and law enforcement. Over the past three years, the organisation has helped prevent more than 3,000 people from being trafficked and equipped hundreds of organisations with intelligence to stay one step ahead of traffickers.
An award-winning community charity in North Kensington providing education, employment, and wellbeing support in one of England’s most deprived wards. Its programmes help local residents overcome barriers such as unemployment, low confidence, and limited access to learning, enabling people of all ages to build brighter futures.
The Happy Baby Community
A user-led charity supporting pregnant women, mothers, and young children seeking asylum after fleeing violence and persecution. Through hubs across London, Sussex, and Surrey, it provides trauma-informed care, early childhood development support, peer networks, and essential resources, reaching thousands of families each year.
Each organisation will benefit from the expertise of The DPO Centre’s experienced data protection team, receiving hands-on support across a range of areas. This includes tailored compliance reviews, assistance with drafting policies, conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), and reviewing or developing data sharing and processing agreements.

The DPO Centre Charity and Community Fund now runs one application round per year. The next round opens on 1 March 2026 and closes on 31 May 2026.
Eligibility criteria for applying includes:
Successful applicants receive up to £10,000 worth of consultancy support, contributing just 20% of the standard fee. Organisations that are not selected are welcome to reapply in a future round.
