Since May 2021, people travelling abroad have had to prove that they have either tested negative for Covid-19 or had their Covid-19 vaccinations and businesses, like care homes and hospitals, have required their staff to test themselves regularly. The privacy implications of requiring proof of test results or vaccination status have been widely discussed, with the UK’s Information Commissioner, Elizabeth Denham, stating that schemes like this would face questions relating to their necessity, proportionality and transparency.
