The DPO Centre features in Business Quarter on EU AI Act

On 8 May 2026, Business Quarter published an article exploring the proposed delay to key EU AI Act compliance deadlines for high-risk AI systems.  

The piece featured insights from David Smith, AI Sector Lead and DPO at The DPO Centre, who highlighted that the revised timeline should not be treated as a reason to pause AI governance efforts. 

David also explained the importance of using the additional time to strengthen oversight, understand where AI is being used across the business, and identify potential high-risk use cases before the new deadlines take effect.
