Secondary Uses of Health Data in the EU and UK

This session will examine how the secondary use of health data is becoming more central to innovation in the Life Sciences sector. It will provide an overview of how evolving data governance frameworks and information standards in the EU and UK are likely to affect access and reuse.

The presentation will address key developments, including the EU’s European Health Data Space, Data Governance Act, and AI Act, alongside the UK’s Health Data Research Service, the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, and updates to the UK Clinical Trials Regulation.
